[IPp] Re: pop-digest V2 #349--sets and water
Melissa:
In our experience, the sets that go in at an angle rarely if ever come
loose or fall off from water or sweat. We have used the Comforts (now the
mini-Comforts) for 6 years, and never lost one after many, many hours of
swimming. Our routine is much simpler than yours--no tegaderm, no
tape--just an alcohol wipe, followed by a swipe of an IV Prep pad, and then
we paint the area with a q-tip soaked in "gorilla snot" (tincture of
Benzoin). Let it get tacky and put in the Comfort, at a very shallow angle.
Annie swims year-round on a competitive team and hasn't lost a set yet. We
use the upper buttocks and thighs only, not her belly.
And you have to use Unisolve wipes to loosen the set for removal!
Hope this helps!
