Re: [IPp] Insurance

Our insurance covers pump supplies, but as "durable medical equipment" which
has a $3000 cap/year, so we paid $2000 out of pocket for the pump and are
going to have to pay a couple hundred a year for supplies. The funny thing
is that when Ry was diagnosed, our insurance called us and wanted to enroll
us in this supposed "great" diabetes program they had called "smart care for
diabetes" which was supposed to help pay for anything the regular insurance
benefits didn't cover - NOT!! I have not heard a thing from them since Ry
was diagnosed. It was just a big scam to make us feel like the ins. was on
our side - yeah right! Plus, every time we order supplies we have to get
prior authorization from the ins., with a letter of med necessity from the
doctor - stupid! Ok, I am done venting about ins. now!
