[IPp] Re: Oroweat Bread Donates to JDRF

While I applaud this company for making donations to the JDRF, isn't this
product just the silliest thing you have ever heard of!

Sugar free bread is something that people with diabetes need??? A typical
loaf of bread might have 14 grams of sugar in it, at most. The small amount
of sugar is put in to make the yeast work. That is about one gram of sugar,
one carbohydrate, in each slice. A typical (thin) slice of bread has about 15
carbohydrates in total, the one gram that actually comes from sugar is not of
importance.

Who dreams up these things?

Barbara, Mum of Claire 10

<<In an effort to aide the dietary needs of those dealing with
diabetes, Oroweat has launched a sugar free bread. This new line of bread is
ideal for consumers that value health benefits but don't want to sacrifice
taste.

With zero grams of sugar and 100 percent whole wheat, Oroweat has created a
bread the whole family can enjoy. Like all Oroweat products, Sugar Free bread
contains no hydrogenated oil or trans fats.

"With diabetes affecting nearly six percent of the population in the US,
Oroweat felt it was important to create a bread that not only worked with
diabetics dietary needs, but also tasted great," said Bonnie Young, Oroweat's
Vice President of Marketing.
