RE: [IPp] RX interaction question

>From my experience, most antibiotics raise BG levels as well as
anti-histamines. Likewise, the basis for flavors of the meds to make them
more "kid-friendly" is corn-syrup or a glucose based flavoring. Throwing
illness into the mix based on the fact he is being prescribed medicine can
increase levels... tip to try... when give the medication, give food to
better predict a bolus amount. Unfortunately, I don't know how to determine
CHO content of the dosage. ? contact pharmacist or the actual
pharmaceutical company to find out - others may have suggestions as well.

My son was at the ped yesterday and they gave him a RX for
Amoxicillin/Clavulanic Acid suspension 400-57/5 and for Promethazine with
Phenylephrine. the
1st is an antibiotic and the 2nd is for nasal congestion. Does anyone know
if
these drugs would have any effect on BG levels he's been doing really well
but after taking the med's at 8 pm last night his bg soared more than once.
At
4:30 am i finally gave him 6 u by injection cause he was at 419 with
ketones.

Anyone out there have any similar experience/advice?
Thanks
