Re: [IPp] more new pumper questions!!
Our son, 15 dx at 12, has been on the Minimed pump since March, 2005. We
adjust his settings often, depending on activity levels, growth spurts, colds,
etc. We set his target for 100. He has highs and lows all the time, but
frequent checking at least 8 to 10 times per day helps us correct them quickly.
You may want to get this book, "Pumping Insulin", 4th Edition. It has
relatively simple ways to test and adjust all of the pump settings. We met the
author, John Walsh, at a CWD conference last year and learned so much! Here

Hang in there! Like everyone says, it IS worth it. The pump has given my
son the freedom and flexibility to be a "normal" teenager.
