[IPn] little experiment

Yesterday the postage for stuff sent to help those in need was $68
bucks. I go to the post office nearly everyday with packages for
people that need supplies and the postage fees vary from $20 - over
$100 bucks an a pretty regular basis. I have a big stack of packages
to go out Monday that I've spent a today packing (yes, Saturday -- I
work for the diabetes community 6 days a week).

The last two days I ran a little experiment to see who was reading
the pledge messages. 2 days ago I put free stuff in the third
paragraph and the following day there were NO requests. Yesterday I
put the very same "stuff" in the first paragraph and got a "bunch" of
requests. I'm pretty sure this is representative of the majority of
"silent" members that never give during the pledge drives, the just
click "delete".

Times are tough for a lot of people, I get calls EVERY SINGLE DAY
from pumpers with no jobs and no insurance. I'd like Insulin Pumpers
to continue to help these people but it takes participation from a
lot more of the members for that to happen. If you want to help ease
the burden then send a few dollars to the pledge drive. I can't do
all of this by myself and I sure can do it without any money.

PENN has $439 remaining to double the value of your pledge to Insulin
Pumpers. You can help by accepting PENN's challenge or by becoming a
sustaining member and giving $10 or 20 bucks a month. REMEMBER, I
spend that much every day just for postage to help out folks less
fortunate than us.
