Could the reason your endo perscribed NPH instead of Lantus be because NPH
kicks in much faster than Lantus would? Lantus would take around 12 hours to
start providing a basal and unless you were doing supplement Humalog or Novolog
every couple of hours until then he wouldn't have any basal insulin.
