Greetings!

A new year calls for new plans and new activities. We are pleased to
inform
you that we have added programs in a new language, Burmese, to the
free
diabetes-care resources on our web site,
www.learningaboutdiabetes.org

Although only a limited number of programs are now available in
Burmese,
they represent the beginning of what we hope will eventually be
a
significant number of free foreign language programs on our non-
profit
charity web site. In the weeks ahead, a number of programs will be
added in
Simplified Chinese, and programs in other languages are in
development.

We are also introducing a new service to help those of you who have
been
requesting our programs in languages other than English or Spanish.
We will
now provide you with the creative files to develop your own versions
of our
popular handouts, in any language you choose, if you:

1) Create the foreign language handouts as pdfs using the joint
credit line
format used in the new Burmese handouts, and

2) Provide a certificate of translation from the American
Translation
Association or an independent translation company, stating that
the
translated text you use in the foreign language pdfs you create is
a
culturally sensitive, accurate translation of our English version of
the
same program.

Adding programs in Burmese to our free online offerings and the new
service
to help you develop your own foreign language diabetes-care programs
is a
great way to start 2012.
