RE: [IP] no dr will see me

I think someone mentioned this earlier but.... why would you not take the
advice of your doc? We all like to blame docs but they have enormous training
and experience (especially the endos). As someone who works with PwDM I have
found that usually people don't want to hear the advice they are getting -- stop
smoking, increase exercise, eat within certain parameters -- because it forces
them out of their comfort zone. They then turn around and blame the doc.
Everyone's situation is different but I find this to be the case frequently.

actually it's perfectly within a doctor's rights to stop treating patients who
are non-compliant. it happens all the time. why should a doc waste time treating
you if you don't follow their orders? i wouldn't

I don't believe you have to follow Dr's orders just because they say so. My
Endo at the Joslin tells me that he gives me advice but that I am in charge of
my treatment. I have a real problem with Drs that think they are G-ds.
You need to take responsibility for your treatment.

I believe it is against medical practice just cause you arent following orders.
Even though you should be following docs order does not give him the right to
not see you or at least refer u to another endo.
