Re: [IP] extra novolog

Be advised that it is illegal to sell (prescription) insulin, which
includes Humalog, Novolog, Lantus, and other "modern" insulin. It's
actually illegal for 2 reasons: The first is that 21 U.S.C. ' 841(a)
says that if you aren't licensed to write prescriptions, that you
can't sell prescription items. The second in that your insurance
company purchased the items for you, so if you sell them, it's
insurance fraud. Yes, this means even if it's just your co-pay.

Also be advised that everything posted to this mailing list is
searchable by the public.

That being said, there are probably other options. Why don't you just
suspend filling your prescription for a while until you use the
excess?

If you are no longer taking insulin, then another option is Insulin
For Life (http://www.ifl-usa.org/). While it still might be
technically illegal to give it to them, it probably won't be a problem
because no money is exchanged, and it goes to a good cause. They might
even send you a receipt that you can use for a tax deduction, although
I didn't get one yet.
