 I think it has something to do with amylin, which is secreted by the pancreas
along with insulin. I am not actually sure, but I assume that since a Type 1
doesn't make insulin, amylin is also not produced. Symlin is a synthetic form of
amylin. It helps to slow down digestion and keeps you feeling fuller longer.
