Hi Sylvia and All,

I took this up with the Australian equivalent of the FDA (the TGA); Dept of 
Health and some of the Pump companies.  The 2 day rule actually applies to 
cannulas inserted into veins ... that is the only standard that has been 
set.

There are no specific standards for subcutaneous infusions .... they just 
suggest the same standard that apply to drips / infusions (into veins) 
generally used in a hospital setting. No studies have been undertaken for 
subcutaneous infusions.

Clearly this also suits those selling pump supplies :)
