[IP] How I fill Cozmo Reservoirs
When I fill my Cozmo reservoirs, first, I cycle the plunger to make sure
that the lubricant inside the reservoir is all over the O rings.
Then I insert the infamous needle into the reservoir and pull the plunger
all the way back.
Then I insert the needle and reservoir into the insulin vial and slowly push
the plunger into the reservoir to charge the insulin vial with air pressure.
When the plunger is completely down at the bottom, I release it and the air
that I pushed into the insulin vial forces insulin into the reservoir.
The problem is I have about getting stabbed is usually when I am filling a
reservoir on a half empty vial of insulin or when I am trying to draw
insulin into the reservoir without "charging" the insulin vial with air.
What I mean is when I have to pull the plunger back with my right hand and
hold the vial and reservoir with my left hand. Otherwise sometimes the
needle on the reservoir may go up above what insulin is left in the vial.
Does this explain a little better about the "stab the @#%%^" our of my
fingers? All the needle has to do is come out and almost instinctively you
try to push it back in. Sometimes with disastrous results.
Thanks, Mark
