[IP] C-Peptide Question

Subject: Re: [IP] C-Peptide Question

Why does an insurance company want a person to have a C-peptide test
when they have been sent medical records showing that the person has
been a type 1 for 45 years before they will buy them a new pump? What
does this test show them?

Type 1 diabetics do not make insulin according to the book since c-peptide is
a connecting protein for the two insulin chains it is not synthesized by the
body If you don't make insulin.so it is 0 or only a few nanomoles per liter if
you are type 1. this is not always the case and the test is not an infallable
indicator. If you have any records of having been in DKA those are more
