Minimed never advertised the Paradigm as being waterPROOF, only waterTIGHT.
Maybe it was the former legal secretary in me,  having worked for lawyers in
the past for so many years, that I paid special attention to the wording
"watertight" vs. "waterproof" when choosing my Paradigm.  I knew that when
they used that wording, I'd better read what that really meant.  When they
specified "watertight" to 8 feet for X number of hours, I couldn't help but
wonder what kind of parameters that really meant.  To me, that was the outer
limits, so I wasn't willing to try even a couple of feet for a couple of
minutes.  I feel for the people who chose the  Paradigm for it's
"waterproof" capabilities but the reality is that Minimed only claimed it to
be "watertight."  For any legal liability, it appears they covered
