Cool pops (otter pops/flavor-ice) have saved me from many ER visits when
persistent vomiting was a problem.  I also keep Pedialite Pops
around--although they do not seem to have any carbs in them, they do have
electrolytes and other important stuff.  Also coke which has been stirred to
remove the bubbles or ginger ale (as long as it has real ginger) have been
lifesavers.  I also keep promethazine tablets and promethagan suppositories
on hand at all times.
