Why don't you simply try it and see? The meter won't erase itself
unless a specific command is sent to do that, and connecting a cable
doesn't qualify.

Open up a communications program, set the 9600 N,8,1 protocol, open a
capture file, turn the meter on, issue the "dmp" command, and close
the capture file when the data finishes transferring.

You can use most any communications program, such as Lifescan's own
InTouch, Windows HyperTerminal, Hilgraeve HyperAccess, Telix for
Windows, and even the Windows 3.10 Terminal program. You cannot use
the program provided by Accu-Chek because they use proprietary

BTW, when you're done, it's doubtful that any judge worth his robe
would accept the data, since it's simply text that can be manipulated
