What you should do is set your alarm for every hour on the hour and check
b.g. to see when you are dropping.  It might be earlier or later.

The reason you are probably high in the morning can be either from having a
low and your liver put out a lot of glucose to bring you back up high and/or
you have pre dawn phen...

I usually do a one hour check when I am having difficulties and can't see
where the problem is stemming from.  If you do this once or twice, you most
likely will find where your problem is and then adjust your basals from
