Also remember, Lantus cannot be mixed with any other kind of insulin.

Subject: [IP] Long acting insulin that starts with L works very evenly

A small important correction to a posting. Lantus insulin is 24 hour long
ACTING and is just about like using the pump for the basal effect. The
acting Humalog shots are used for meals like with the pump. The activity of
Lantus is very even as a Basel and meal times can be moved around, or
much easier than when using NPH. In Europe Lantus is replacing NPH for a
of patients. It is very easy to use and more people need to know that it is
possibility. It dose mean that you will have to take at least 4 shots per
day, one Lantus PM and then Humalog for meals or high blood sugars. Very
low blood sugars. It is an other option.
