[IP] eye laser

Hey Al:
don't get discouraged. My brother had 13 treatments in all in both eyes and
has been fine for years!

Me, on the other hand, had to have 37 laser treatments tl. in both eyes over
a 3 year period. They were quite painful since they were near the optic
nerve and there were days when I'd get home, take tylenol and go put a
pillow over my head and go to sleep...only to wake up with a hemor in that
eye...and back off to dr. I went again.

But listen, being half blind isn't that bad! It sure beats being totally
blind and for three years, that's where we all thought I was headed...

Although I am left with just a pin size tunnel vision, total night
blindness, no depth perception or color perception and my eyes still blur
out on me..some days to 20/200 with my glasses on...those are the days I
just stay home and don't even bother getting behind the wheel.

I am grateful to my eye specialist back in NY and to God for allowing me to
still be able to see.

So don't get discouraged and don't worry about scar tissue...I get wonderful
light shows when I look up towards the sun or when I'm really low!!! If one
looked at my pics of my eyes they look worse than the craters on the moon
but do I care? No. I stopped feeling sorry for myself because I used to be
so active and take myself everywhere and became a virtual shut in at night
but I have learned to live with it.

Being shut in at night certainly beats being in total darkness all of the
time. I still fear to lose my sight but I have a very strong faith and that
is what holds me together most of the time.

Hang in there and don't give up the faith.
