If you are eating more calories than you should or to loose weight you reduce 
calories that does not mean that you reduce eating.  Example...eating an 
apple instead of peanut butter crackers.  When you eat more healthy and 
reduce fat you will loose weight.  Actually you should eat more frequently 
because this increases your metabolism.  In addition with doctors consent 
exercise can be started and then you are burning more calories, fat and 
increasing metabolism.  My point was not that diabetics should not burn fat 
but at a rapid rate with the production of ketones which happens during 
weight loose if that person will have a more likelyhood of having problems 
with DKA.  Anyone who needs to drop weight should, diabetic or not that was 
not my issue.  It was more safty.
