Over-Treating Hypos (was)Re: Subject: [IP] 3rd change!

   Regarding "overtreating" lows.....for the longest time, Melissa would want 
to eat everything in sight, if she was low & then of course she would 
rebound....Her CDE explained that all she really needed for the low was about 
15 grams of carbs....whatever she ate beyond that amount would require a 
bolus...Once she started doing this ( although it seemed weird to give 
insulin when she was so low, after years of treating hypos while on shots) 
the rebound highs diminished considerably. This "should" be obvious, but I've 
learned that even the most obvious things aren't always common knowledge, so 
it's worth mentioning.
