The strength of IV glucose used here is 50%, 25 to 50 ml.  It is not required
if an individual is able to swallow other sources of oral glucose, such as gel
or glucose tablets or juice.  If unable to swallow, or unconscious, glucagon
is the next best choice if IV access is not available.
