[IP] Glucometer

It is interesting that Disetronic is pursuing a more rapid
delivery system. One where the insulin is pumped into the
abdominal cavity or into the liver (my memory is unclear on
the details that they stated in their recent mailer. If
Disetronic succeeds and MiniMed succeeds, AND if they
could/would work together. It might be possible to have a
practical closed loop, external, artificial pancrease. A
lot of ifs in that sentence.

It's so difficult, it probably will not work. The reaction
time for
the insulin must be much quicker. Either an IV line or
endomitrial(sp?) line will be necessary to keep the
activation time
down to something like 15 minutes or so.

my 2 cents worth as an engineer.
