RE: [IP] Re: insulin-pumpers-digest V11 #993
Sue check your sites for bumps or scar tissue. Sometimes after using a site
more than once a month it can stop absorbing insulin.

Had a very scary night last night. Changed my infusion site in the afternoon
and after dinner, I checked my sugar and it was over 500. My insertion site
was bad, but I didn't figure that out for a while. I thought I had just
massively "under-dosed" for dinner. So, I changed the site, and that one
wasn't absorbing either. Strange, because the pump didn't say "blockage
detected", so the insulin was going in, just not being absorbed. Changed it
a third time, checked it 1/2 hour later, after giving myself a shot with a
syringe, and it was down to 196...then checked it a couple hours later and
it was good. Also good this morning, but what a scare!!!!!
