[IP] dialysis

I spent 6 years on dialysis before my kidney transplant in Aug 2005. #1 fries
are not supposed to be consumed because of their potassium content (you can get
away with eating a few), but the Whopper, I did eat many of those (mostly
Whopper Jr).

If she was told that the fries were a protein, I would say YES she does need a
new MD. The dialysis units supply a nehprologist and a dietician, sometimes not
always the best, but they are supplied. I know for a fact that the dieticians
undergo intense training of phosphouros and potassium (which are pretty limited
to a dialysis patient).

>I have a sister-in-law who is diabetic and has dialysis 3x a wk. She asked
>last evening if I would pick her up a whooper and fries without salt, because
>they are warmer that way, from Burger King and of course I did. I asked her
>about the sodium in the whooper and also the calorie content of the whole
>meal. She told me that she didn't need to worry about sodium on dialysis and
>she was told that fries were protein. Am I crazy, or does she need another
>MD/dietician?
