Re: [IP] Re: caffeine and glucose raising?

I need to bolus for coffee I drink in the morning. I only add real cream,
which is very low carb and nothing else. If I wake up a little on the low
side (75), I just drink my coffee without a bolus and don't need to eat
anything else to raise my BG. If I have coffee in the late afternoon
though, which is pretty rare, I don't bolus or I'll go low. I've read that
diabetics are more insulin-resistant in the morning and I've found that
seems to apply to me. I guess it's the whole getting up thing people talk
about on the list, because I can wake up with perfect BG's, not eat or drink
anything at all, and my BG will rise. I eat my lowest carb meal in the
morning because of this. YMMV
