I just got a paradigm pump 3 weeks ago and was having the same problem and
one day it powered off without an alert beep and I didn't know it. Needless
to say, I was 450 before I realized it. The minimed company just sent me a
new pump and I've been using this one for 3 days now. The other one I had to
change the battery every 3-4 days and they said that it can last a week or
two. Make sure you are using energiser AAA batteries. Hope that works for
