Re: [IP] Changing Jobs - Preexisting coverage question

I work in this area so I know a little bit about this. There was a law passed
several years ago to protect people from losing their health insurance
coverage when they switch jobs primarily because of the new employer's
waiting period.

You will need to document that you had continuous coverage between employers
which usually means you might have to pick up COBRA with your former employer.
If you can document that you had continuous coverage with COBRA, your
pre-existing coverage should be waived.

Subject: [IP] Changing Jobs - Preexisting coverage question

I'm going to be switching jobs shortly and I have a question about the
preexisting coverage rules regarding any lapses in coverage..

What is determined to be a laspe in coverage significant enough to disqualify
someone from being able to get covered under the new employers policy?

Thanks,

Brentm
