[IP] Re: Blood Drive & Diabetes

The American Red Cross's "official" policy is that all
insulin dependent diabetics can give blood.  They
might require a letter from your physician stating
that you have the MD's permission to do such.  This
policy was established about 7 years ago.

I used the Red Cross's policy to get the local blood
facility in Denver, Bell Bonfils, to change their
policy.  (No Red Cross blood centers here in Denver).

You should be a-okay to give blood as long as you have
proof of your MDs permission.
