Try some baby oil, or warm it slightly (carefully) with a hair dryer.

If the rash is slight, a barrier film like Smith & Nephew or Bards 
may be enough to preven the rash. Otherwise, a layer of 
non-allergenic tape applied to the skin first will probably solve the
