  RE;protein and fat.  Some protein is broken down later on into carbs so 
that needs to be factored in.  But the fat will delay the carb breakdown 
until later.  This will result in a rapid rise after a few hours in your BGs. 
 That is why with Josh, age almost 10, when he eats certain food with high 
fat (Mexican, pizza, Mac N Cheese) we split his bolus up half now and half in 
about an  hour or so.  SOme pumps have this feature ours doesn't.  That way 
you will have that extra needed insulin to cover when the fat leaves and 
allows the carbs to kick in!
