[IP] Agent Orange

Vietnam vets with concerns or questions about Agent Orange may call
1-800-749=8387. There is also a web page www.va.gov/agentorange/default/htm.
Illnesses in children of Vietnam vets that VA recognizes as
service-connected are l spina bifida 2. other birth defects in the children
of women Vietnam vets. Type 2 Diabetes is now accepted as service-connected
for Vietnam vets. Type 2 is considered in category 2: Limited/suggestive
evidence of an association. VA estimates about 178,000 Vietnam vets will
receive service-connection within first 5 years of this recognition effective
July 2001. These folks are eligible for certain VA benefits. Note: there is
not a limit on # days served in Vietnam to be eligible, so if you were there
2 weeks, you are probably eligible. I think service in Cambodia also counts.
