Re: [IP] abcess under the armpit

    I have had 5 abcesses lanced open. The first two times I was in the
hospital for them. They packed them for 3 days then I went home and had to
clean them out myself (Of course they were at seperate times!) but my doctor
had me keep them open so that they healed from the inside out. That was to
make sure the omfection was completely gone. It took several weeks of
course. luckily I have very minimal scarring from them. (Except for one
where a surgeon cut it open! It is still growing scarr tissue 5 years
    They are very painful, but take heart, the pain will go away!
