Where does one get 8-10 hr stretch?

I was under the opinion that you do a night basal by checking before going
to bed, 2 or 3 AM and then again in morning and then can eat.

Next check is fasting until lunch and check every hour.

Then eat breakfast but no lunch and fast from lunch till dinner.

Next, no dinner, oops, go to bed hungry.

Am I wrong?
