RE: [IP] Cold that won't go away

Julie,
I have to second this. I had horrible headaches and cold symptoms for about
three weeks. I had trouble sleeping from the headaches and sore throats.
For me it turned out that I had developed allergies (at age 22) to dust and
at night it was exacerbated. The sore throats were caused by post-nasal
drip. The headaches were sinus headaches and went away with treatment. The
over the counter treatments such as 'Advil Cold and Sinus' helped but didn't
alleviate all the symptoms (sinus headaches), so the allergist put me on
Zyrtec.

On the other hand I know that there was a persistent bug out there this
summer that hit a bunch of people at my work and my husbands. It took my
husband about 2 weeks to get over it and he normally doesn't get sick for
long. For him it was just a runny nose and tiredness.

Best of luck,
Sherry

Hi Julie,
Maybe it's not a cold. It could be allergies.
When my son was three, it seemed like he always had a cold. I'd be
bringing him to the pediatrician all the time. She said the same thing. Not
bacterial. Told me to get him checked out by a allergist. That's what it
was. He was on allergy shots for three years and now has no problems. He
does take a Claritin redi tab each morning though. I have to knock on wood
though, he hasn't been sick in a long, long time.
