[IP] glycemic index of some carbs

  glycemic index greater than 100%
     puffed rice, corn flakes puffed wheat, millet, instant rice, instant 
potato, microwaved potato, french bread,  maltose, glucose, tofu ice cream, 
rice cakes, white bread
   Between 80-100 %
       grapenuts, whole wheat bread, rolled oats, oat bran, white rice,brown 
rice, muesli, shredded wheat, carrots, parsnips, corn, banana, raisins, 
apricots, papaya, mango, ice cream-lowfat, corn chips, rye crisps.

  Moderate inducers between 50-80%
      pasta, pumpernickel bread, all-bran cereal, orange, o.j., peas, pinto 
beans, garbonzo beans, kidney beans, baked beans, navy, lactose, sucrose, 
candy bars, potato chips with fat.
Reduced insulin secretion--g index between 30-50%-
      grain based foods, apple, apple juice, applesauce, pears, grapes, 
peaches, lentils, black-eyed peas, chickpeas, dried kidneys, limas, tomato 
soup, hifat ice cream, milk, yogart, 
      10% or less--- cherries, plums, grapefruit, fructose, soy beans , 
   high fat content will retard the rate of absorption of carbs into body.
