Yes, I agree that his apology is just a continuation of his argument.
But it does not just apply to Diabetics.
If he were not so ignorant he would realize that  Epileptics and Coronary
patients can loose consciousness  while driving also.  In this way, they are
like us and  I am sure they  realize it. If you add the three groups
together,  that is a lot of people.  Insult that many people and I would
doubt a candidate could get elected as ditch digger.-James
