Regarding the lump under your arm. You said it hurt, right? Good. That
means that your lymph node is inflamed because you are fighting some kind
of infection -- probably somewhere near that node. It is normal for lymph
nodes to swell and become tender when you are fighting infection. Even if
it has stopped hurting now, I bet the original reason for the swelling is
an infection. Once a lymph node becomes enlarged, it does take the body
awhile to reabsorb the excess lymph fluid (made of white blood cells) that
rushed to the node to help out. That would probably explain why the lump is
still there. 

Swollen lymph nodes that are painless are another matter....
