You start with an air bubble in an empty syringe.
It is the action of putting insulin in the syringe that is critical.
Do not just fill it up with insulin.
get the insulin to dribble in without desturbing the air bubble.
Keep that air buble in tact. It must remain a single solid air buble.
None of the air from that buble may be allowed to disperse into the insulin 
Therefore the isulin is dribbled carefuly into the syringe, not straight down 
but running along the side, between the plastic and the air bubble, not and 
never through the air bubble.
