i just started inserting sets last week.....  (i'm using
tender/comfort/sils) and although slightly more uncomfortable than my BD
ultrafine short needle syringes, they aren't very painful at all....  

i have heard a neat trick though... for those of you who like the ice
trick for numbing.... put a metal spoon  in your freezer and use that
instead of ice to numb the site... less drippy, and reusable too... (just
pop it back in the freezer when you're done with it, and it'll be nice a
chilly for the next time around.....)
