I have been able to get rid of the small bubble in the luer connection
by injecting insulin (with a regular needle) into the cap attached to
the tubbing that connects to the luer.  This has also helped in
eliminating any bubbles in the tubbing.  It ususally takes approx. 45
units of insulin.  When filling the cap make sure the insulin overflows
without spilling.  When connecting to the luer push the lever to create
a bubble of insulin.  This will eliminate any bubbles in the luer
