I think this is widespread, even in the pump community. I often read here of
someone bringing up a low and having/giving a p.b. sandwich to sustain the
BG level. I asked this question on here awhile ago about giving a p.b.
sammich to a child after a low, questioning the practice. I figured on my
own that when the BG level is brought up and the basals are correct, no
stuffing of carbs w/protein (p.b.) is needed. It is overtreating. YMMV
