Ricardo: For what it's worth, I was not supporting the use of statins nor
was I saying they were good, bad or indifferent. What I was saying was that
the *thinking* behind the argument...including the (broken) links, the
faulty analysis and poor statistical methodology, along with the use of
Wikipedia as a source of 'reliable' information were questionable. It is in
every patient's interest to question anything a physician prescribes and to
be their own advocate. I just think that getting to the original source
literature/research is going to put you in a better position to make an
information decision over relying on Wikepedia. And to be perfectly PC about
it all, Wikipedia has some good features...but it is flawed and not at all
scientific.
Bottom line: all I'm saying is: Buyer Beware. And be your own advocate.
