RE: [IP] Re:question for Cozmo users

While Patch pumps are getting a lot of press it's a stretch to suggest that
patch pumps are the only type being developed.

The reality is that Omnipod is the only patch pump on the market.

In 2004 it was estimated that 77% of the market was owned by Minimed
With 8% going to Roche, 9% Animas and 6% to deltec with 1% being other
which would include Omnipod
The study I read estimated that the "other" percent would grow to 3% by 2009

Of course they also predicted that Deltec would grow to 12% of the US market
by 2009. Oops

To suggest that the less than 1% of the market is enough to get the
attention of dozens of companies while the 95% of the market is ignored
isn't being honest. Even if the numbers are off by a factor of 10 - 10% of
a small market is still a small market.

Look at Omnipod. Everything a Cosmo does (minus unnecessay hypo
manager) plus a lot more. If you've never used aautoinserting painfree
tubless pump you have no idea what you are missing and how easy
pumping can be. Easily takes 1/4 the the time to use than any other
pump. One thing I regularly notice on this list is people get Omnipod,
say they love it and we never hear from them again. Could it be they
just don't have issues? To the best of my knowledge 12 companies
(including MM) are working on "patch pumps". 12 companies aren't
working on older technology pumps. Form your own conclusions Andy
