I was recently told by a CDE that many people are causing the Lantus to not
work because they aren't careful about making sure the Lantus shot is not
taken in the same area as the Humalog/Novalog shots.  Lantus has a different
PH (which is why it can't be mixed) and even injecting a Humalog shot close
to where the Lantus shot was taken causes the Lantus not work.  She
recommended taking the Lantus in the Leg and the quick acting insulin in the
stomach or arms.  It was her theory that's why so many people were needing
to take two shots a day of Lantus.  Just passing on what she said.
