[IP] Re: Eye examinations

I FINALLY have an appointment with an opthamologist next week. Referrals from
my GP kept getting returned with the note "send this girl to an optometrist".
Well, I went to an optometrist, and I don't need glasses, but the high scores
she kept getting on the pressure (glaucoma) test freaked me out - she kept
saying, well, let's just see what it is next time you come in. Argh!
My endo got me the appointment with an opth't, but what I need help with is a
list of the right questions to ask/requests to make. I've had DM for 19 years.
No probs yet (knocking on wood) but I'd like him to be on the lookout... for
what - I'm not sure. Any suggestions??
Usually I figure the family history to be the tip off: grandfather had Type 1,
had glaucoma and was blind by 45. Doesn't seem to phase them these days...
thanks, much appreciated.
PS No one's said anything about a retina specialist...
