RE: [IP] CGMS for consumers

How does it work ??
How does "it" get under skin and why only 5 days ?
When will we have no need for meters ??
I spend A LOT more $$ on test strips than anything.
Sure I am not alone.

Hi Pumpers,
I went to a diabetes fair yesterday, talked to the MM lady there.
She said they are waiting on FDA approval for a sensor for consumers
that is similar to the CGMS that will go
under the skin and be left in for 5 days and the report from it will
on the front of the pump like a little graph. It won't need to be
with a wire like the CGMS is. She thought the wait time for FDA
was estimated to be 6-8 months.
That sounded pretty interesting to me.
I wonder if any of the other pump companies are working on something
similar since they all seem to work on similar ideas a lot of the time.

Faith, pumping with the dtron plus 4-5-03

type 1 diabetic 22+ years and glad to be here

pumping since 08-00
