Now, this is what works for me and I am not sure how she figured it out
either, but the lady from Animus took how much insulin I was taking (on
average) and how many carb I was eating(average) and she came up with the
magic(for me) number 25. Now what I do is what ever my blood sugar is, I
subtract what it should be, then the remaining number gets divided by 25 and
whala, there is my correction bolus. They call this my sensitivity factor,
and say 1 u humalog lowers my BS 25 points. I recommend asking your endo if
they can help you figure out your sensitivity factor, as this is a great
feature of pumping!! I can lower to BS to within range without crashing!! It
is really great!!
