RE: [IP] Quicksets and No Delivery Alarm

Thank you with all my heart, I was getting 'no delivery' alarms constantly
and I only just started the minimed pump with the Sof-set in July 2001. I
thought my pump was malfunctioning so I called minimed to have it sent in.
Wednesday the 21 November it gave me five - yes five - 'no delivery' alarms
in a row!! I changed the tubing four times and then went onto manual
injections. My sugars were 1.9 ( I don't know what that is in your glucose
meters but it is beyond low)then in the morning I was 17.7 ( that's probably
in the 280 range) Thank you for telling me about the tubing problem. I will
gladly switch to the metal needle. Question: does the 'Silhouette' (I think
I spelled that wrong)give the no delivery as well? Tammy

Yvonne,
I had the same problem with the Quicksets AND the
softsets AND any other teflon cannula I tried to use.
Even if they didn't look bent, I would get a "no
delivery" alarm or my BGs would shoot to 400. I find
that the metal needle sets (bent neeedle, Rapids)
eliminated that problem for me. My endo told me that
the bent needle sets are often used on children who
have little body fat. It takes the guesswork out of
troubleshooting as well - the needles are sturdier and
less likely to bend on insertion.
Good luck,
Catherine
